Star Citizen Redeem Codes (2026)
Active Star Citizen redeem codes and referral codes for 2026, where each one goes in your RSI account, the rewards they actually unlock, and how to spot the fake 'free codes' lists you'll see in search results.
TL;DR: Star Citizen doesn't run a steady stream of public redeem codes the way a free-to-play mobile game does. The reliable codes that actually unlock something today fall into two buckets: the referral code system (you enter a friend's code at signup and you both earn rewards), and occasional promo codes tied to events, free fly weeks, or sponsorships. Most "working free Star Citizen codes 2026" lists online are recycled or fake — use this page as your sanity check.
Active referral code: STAR-GCQJ-N6NC
Reward: 50,000 UEC starter credits + entry into RSI's referral reward tiers.
Where to use it: The "Referral Code" field on the RSI signup form when you create your account, or use the prefilled link robertsspaceindustries.com/enlist?referral=STAR-GCQJ-N6NC.
Referral codes vs. promo codes
Referral codes — like STAR-GCQJ-N6NC — go in the Referral Code field on the RSI signup form when you create your account. They can be applied at signup or within 24 hours of account creation.
Promo codes from events or free fly weeks are entered after signup via RSI Account → Settings → Apply a Promotional Code. CIG issues these occasionally during events like Invictus Launch Week.
Active codes (September 2026)
| Code | Type | Reward | Status |
|---|---|---|---|

Referral | 50,000 UEC + referral tier credit | Active |
Table checked September 28, 2026 — the referral code above was last verified working on the live RSI signup page on September 12, 2026, and no event promo code is currently active. Looking for a Pirate Week 2026 code? CIG's official Pirate Week 2026 announcement (the event began September 9) lists themed starter packs, paints, Warbond upgrades and pirate gear, but no redeem code. The last free-to-play event, Foundation Festival 2026, ended August 10, 2026. Promo and event codes will be added to this table as RSI announces them. If you've seen a code claimed to work elsewhere, paste it into RSI → Account → Settings → Apply a Promotional Code and the platform will tell you immediately whether it's valid.
"Free Star Citizen code 2026" lists are usually fake
Search results for "star citizen redeem codes 2026" often surface long lists of random alphanumeric strings claimed to grant free ships or millions of UEC. They don't work. Star Citizen has never had an MMO-style daily code drop. The two reliable ways to earn rewards remain:
- The referral programme: Use a referral code at signup, then refer your own friends once you're in. RSI's official referral tier list grants flyable ships, paints, and even capital-tier rewards at the upper milestones.
- Free Fly events: CIG runs free-fly weeks where anyone can play the full game with a rotating ship roster. The two biggest are the May flagship event (Invictus Launch Week, run as DefenseCon in 2026) and IAE (Intergalactic Aerospace Expo) in November. For current dates, see freeflyevent.com.
