Star Citizen Transit System Guide (2026)
Everything you need to know about navigating the mass transit systems in major cities like Lorville, Area18, and New Babbage.
TL;DR: To get around a Star Citizen city, find the metro entrance marked with an "M" symbol (or follow floor lines), board the train, and ride to your destination — all major cities (Lorville, Area18, New Babbage) have a metro or tram connecting the spaceport to shopping and habitation districts. On space stations, use the elevator and select your floor from the panel — directory screens nearby show what's on each level.

Lorville — Hurston
Lorville has the most extensive transit network — a metro loop connecting all major districts.
- Metro stations: Central Business District, Workers' District, Residential District, Spaceport.
- How to find it: Look for the large "M" symbol above entrances. Floor lines also lead toward the metro.
- Frequency: Trains run approximately every 5 minutes — wait on the platform and board when the doors open.
- Hangars: After claiming your ship at the ASOP terminal, take the elevator or follow signs to your assigned hangar number.
Area18 — ArcCorp
- Spaceport Tram: Connects the Spaceport with the main Plaza shopping area. Runs continuously — minimal wait.
- Rideshare: Terminals marked with a taxi symbol offer direct point-to-point transport. Select your destination, wait at the designated landing pad.
- Walking: Area18 is more compact than Lorville — walking between the Plaza level shops is often faster than waiting for transit.
New Babbage — microTech
- Metro Center: Central hub connecting Spaceport, Commons shopping area, and Aspire Grand hotel. Digital displays show next arrivals.
- Promenade Shuttles: Small automated shuttles within the Commons area — arrive every 3–5 minutes, no schedule needed.
Space Stations
Most space stations (Port Tressler, Everus Harbor, Area18 Orbit, etc.) share a similar layout — a central hub connected to services via elevators.
- Elevator panel: Press F near the elevator call panel and select your floor from the list (Hangars, Habitation, Commerce, Refinery, Customs).
- Directory screens: Wall-mounted screens near elevator banks list what's on each floor with directions.
Transit Tips
- Set spawn points: Spawn at the city/station you use most to skip the travel entirely on login.
- Floor lines: Colored lines on the floor lead to different areas — faster than reading signs when you're lost.
- Elevator glitch: If an elevator won't respond, try a different one nearby — they sometimes bug. If stuck, press Backspace to respawn at your last set location.
- Transit not arriving: Server instance issues can freeze trams. Switch server (disconnect and reconnect) if a metro hasn't arrived in 10+ minutes.
